OPENING OF THE BUST TO VLADIMIR ALEKSEEVICH KIRILLIN

Academician Vladimir Alekseevich Kirillin, an outstanding scientist, the largest organizer of the Soviet science - Chairman of the State Committee of the USSR on Science and Technology (SCST), Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, First Vice President of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Head of the Department of Science, Higher Education Institutions and Schools of the CPSU Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Higher Education of the USSR, made a huge and invaluable contribution to the development of applied and fundamental science in the USSR, the transformation of our country into a leading scientific power, the strengthening of international cooperation. His work in the Central Committee of the CPSU, the Council of Ministers of the USSR, the State Committee for Science and Technology of the USSR, the Academy of Sciences of the USSR has provided major scientific achievements in a large number of areas, led to the development of several fundamentally new sections of science and technology.

His outstanding contribution to the development of national science was appreciated by high state awards: the Order "For Services to the Fatherland" IV degree, four Orders of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, the October Revolution, Lenin, Stalin and State Prizes. Academician V. A Kirillin - the author of more than 160 scientific papers in the field of thermodynamics and physical basics of thermal engineering.

Vladimir Alekseevich Kirillin died January 29, 1999 in Moscow, buried at Novodevichy Cemetery.
